How Does the CQ-1000 Shower Filter Work?

As chlorinated water flows through the shower filter, specially-formulated KDF-55 filtration media (copper and zinc) creates a galvanic or electrolytic reaction, which causes the two chlorine ions to combine with the most prevalent metal ion in the water (usually calcium) to form a harmless chloride. KDF does not hold the chlorine; it converts it into an environmentally safe and harmless soluble chloride.
