Since its inception in 1988, Austin Air has been a respected leader in the air purification industry. Austin Air purifiers are manufactured in the USA and they continue to produce exceptional quality HEPA air purifiers that deliver the cleanest, healthiest air possible.

Richard Taylor, the owner of the company, watching helplessly as his wife endured countless medical treatments for a serious breathing condition. He was inspired to create an air purifier that would remove the pollutants that were having a negative impact on her respiratory system. In developing the Austin Air purifier he worked with researchers to analyze the strategies used for hospital clean rooms. His team using, HEPA technology, created a medical-grade HEPA air purifier for the home to match the efficiency and effectiveness of those clean rooms. This HEPA air purifier greatly improved his wife’s condition and gave him the idea to produce these for the public. Today, each Austin Air purifier combats the presence of airborne contaminants using this most powerful, proven weapon of HEPA filtration.

First created in the 1940s during World War II to prevent radiation and other pollutants from contaminating testing facilities, HEPA is the most effective air filtration technology on the market. The medical-grade HEPA filter contained within each Austin Air eliminates 99.97 percent of all airborne allergens down to 0.3 microns in size, including dust particles, pet dander, soot, pollen, mold spores, dust mites and viruses. It also removes 95 percent of contaminants down to 0.1 microns in size. To put this into perspective, consider that these particles would require magnification of 150 times just to be visible to the naked eye. Filtering particles this small allows for a remarkably clean environment, one that promotes easier breathing for all, including those who suffer from asthma and allergies.

While HEPA extracts nearly all airborne particulates, it is not a complete solution. Each air purifier that Austin Air produces contains activated carbon filtration.

Activated carbon is highly porous and has a large surface area. This allows it to bind and trap toxic gases and chemical impurities, including volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The activated carbon filter works in conjunction with the HEPA filter to provide the most comprehensive air filtration available purifying your indoor air quality.

All air purifiers manufactured by Austin Air include a 360-degree air intake system. This approach allows the machine to draw in the maximum amount of air from all directions while continuing to process it more efficiently. In fact, the Austin Air can handle 250 cubic feet of air every minute.

Ionic air cleaners and electrostatic precipitators produce ozone and other dangerous byproducts. Austin Air purifiers never produce harmful byproducts such as ozone. This is an important difference because ozone and other toxins contaminate the air, irritate the respiratory system, and can increase the risk of heart disease, asthma attacks and premature death.

Health professionals, including respiratory therapists and allergists, throughout the world trust and recommend Austin Air products due to how effective the filtration is. It’s so effective that Austin Air purifiers are used by the Red Cross, the U.S. military and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Austin Air products were even the solution of choice to rid the indoor air of dangerous contaminants and pollutants during the aftermath of 9/11.
